Advanced Placement (AP) program are college-level courses taught in high school. Students may earn college credit if they earn a qualifying score on the AP exams taken in May. All students must agree to pay for the AP exam and take the scheduled AP exam in May. In addition to the opportunity to earn college credit, students will participate in a rigorous, intense and deeply challenging learning environment.
As one of the AP test centers, McCanny Secondary School offers AP Programs in 4 ways:
This is a course combining the Ontario curriculum and AP curriculum. By completing 110 hours of instructions, the student will get an Ontario high school credit if they pass the course while preparing for the AP exam. (the results of the AP exam do not affect the grade of the credit course)
This course follows the AP curriculum designed by the College Board. There will be an emphasis on exam preparation incorporating the use of AP Classroom.
McCanny provided one-on-one tutors for students based on requests.
You can also register to only take your AP exams with us without enrolling in any courses.
Students must first pay for each exam (see payment method below) and fill out this registration form and follow the instructions in the form for the next step: 2024-2025 AP Exam Registration
Upload proof of payment (include student’s name) and a government-issued photo ID to
apclassroomstudy@gmail.com.
Please note that registration will not be processed without both payment and complete information.
Following the submission of payment and Registration Form, students will receive JOIN CODE(S) via email for each exam they are writing in May 2025. At this step, students will set up a College Board account at https://myap.collegeboard.org/login. Students must enter their JOIN CODE(S) into their MyAP account within 48 hours upon receiving, or else they may risk losing their access to the exam or causing late registration fees.
Both steps must be completed on or before March 1st, 2025, to order exams. Failure to follow these steps will result in cancellation of your exam(s).
If you have any questions, please contact apclassroomstudy@gmail.com
Once we confirm your exam payment, we will send you the Join Code and a tutorial to help you set up your AP account on College Board. This is a mandatory step for all AP students.
